EPA Could Expand RRP Rule to Require Dust Wipe Clearance
Get ready for more from the EPA's RRP rule. This month it could be changed to require contractors to work with a third party to verify a job site is free of lead dust after a renovation is completed. The new aspect for the rule is commonly referred to as "Dust Wipe Clearance." Luckily, Testudo is already offering dust wipe clearance services, and you can contact us today to learn more or to set up an appointment.
In addition, the EPA is also forming another RRP amendment that would see requirements for lead-safe work practices in pre-1978 buildings expanded to the commercial and public sector. Final action on that change would not occur until 2013.
As always, we'll keep you posted on these and other changes to the RRP rule. Good luck out there, and stay safe.
